How Your Support Fuels Technology That Transforms Lives

ACI's Francisco Miranda, head of our technology department, has a lot of New Year's resolutions. One of them is to reach even more ACI/Five Houses students in 2026.

"I love my work," says Francisco. "While things can get a little crazy from time to time, the great joy I have in working on my own highest good by spreading the dharma far and wide every day more than makes up for it. I can't imagine anything else I would rather be doing!"

Francisco heads a large team of over 50 volunteers who support the massive technological effort needed to bring all the classes, retreats, and events that ACI/Five Houses produces to ACI's students around the world. It's possible Francisco has even recruited you to help if you met him at an event! "We offer some amazing teaching almost every day of the week," says Francisco. "We have multiple classes a week, often seven days almost around the clock, and at least four major events in different parts of the world each year. Not only that, but we offer each of them in six to ten different languages, all in simultaneous translation. It would take me an hour to describe the many, many technical production steps each one-hour class requires, not to mention a week-long retreat. I really bow down to the feet of my wonderful volunteers!"

How One Teacher Inspires Hundreds Worldwide

In ACI Executive Director Timothy D. Lowenhaupt's latest class offering, Kompletion Karma, there were 775 people registered, and up to 350 attending online in any one of the classes.

A great teacher can inspire many. "I didn't know a lot of the people who showed up in my first few classes," says Tim. "A lot of them were new. They had heard about this new 15-month teaching I'm offering to help people finish the 15 ACI Foundation Courses. It really seemed to spark some deep interest. In Kompletion Karma, we are going to cover ACI 16, 17 & 18, the review courses that cover the fifteen Foundation Courses. I knew that a lot of our students were having trouble finishing their courses, doing the homeworks and exams needed to get their course certificates, so I decided to offer this 15-month mega-course to help!"

Ask any ACI teacher, and you are likely to hear a touching story about how their words and their teachings inspired somebody. Many times a teacher has changed someone's life for the better with their teaching. Inspired by a bit of Buddhist wisdom skillfully communicated, someone may get the tools they need to fix a family situation, end an addiction, heal and comfort someone who is ill, or create a whole new life situation that is much better than the old one.
